Warcraft
Let's get right to the point. The Warcraft movie is bad. It's really bad. I wanted to like this movie but it's just not a good movie. The acting is beyond horrible. Especially the main human cast. The CG orcs act circles around the humans in this movie. The movie also does a horrible job of explaining the world to the audience. I've never played Warcraft so I wanted a good introduction to what's going on. The tone in the movie is all over the place too. The CG is really uneven. Sometimes it's damn impressive and other times it's flat out bad. All this makes for a pretty terrible movie experience. Sure, fans of Warcraft will probably enjoy it but that doesn't make Warcraft a good movie. If you go into this movie as a Warcraft fan you'll probably enjoy yourself but if you're looking for a good fantasy movie, like Lord of The Rings, then stay far away from this movie.

Alice Through the Looking Glass
To start off, I found it entertaining, which is the main objective of a movie. That being said, it's a forgettable movie at best. And a cluster of rushed ideas at worst. All mashed together in CGI that at times, looked more like cut scenes in a PS3 game than a movie. The story involves Alice travelling through time in order to help her friend The Hatter. I liked Mia Wasikowska's performance as Alice and she did great with what she was given. What she was given, however, could have been better. In an attempt at making all the characters you love, seem deeper, this movie gives you all the back story and answers you never asked for. Pretty much explaining why every main character are the way they are. To sum up. It's good entertainment, but will probably start slipping your mind quite quickly.

Keanu
What a great action comedy movie this turned out to be. The movie tells the story of two cousins, trying to rescue a kitten, that was found on one cousin's doorstep, from the drug dealers that stole it. The movie is funny, and Keanu (the title kitten character) is adorable! I also really like the movie's crazy storyline, clever dialogue, and absurd comedic situations. I've never heard of comedy duo Key and Peele before but they bounce off each other nicely. Anna Faris' cameo is one of the highlights of this movie. In the end this movie is fresh, silly, and smart as hell. Well worth checking out.

Barbershop: The Next Cut
This is the 3rd in the Barbershop series-not counting the Queen Latifah spin-off, Beauty Shop in 2005. The first one was in 2002 and the second in 2004 so it has been about 12 years since the last one. Ice Cube, Cedric and Eve are the original actors returning to the barbershop in Chicago, but there have been some changes since those previous movies, most noticeably being that the shop is now sharing with Regina in charge of a beauty shop. The barbershop humour of old is still there, but now, there seems to be more political talk going on. Everything from Barack Obama to gang violence and shootings in the neighborhood. The gang decides that their best option to put a stop to all the violence is to have a truce for 48 hours-and they also give away free haircuts during the grace period. The humour is still funny, as to be expected, but the rest gets a little heavy handed and unbelievable. I think they should have stuck with the comedy and left the political messages for someone else. Worth watching if you watched the previous movies.

Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising
The last Bad Neighbours movie was a good laugh. Juvenile it may have been, but enjoyable nonetheless, and that's exactly what you get the second time round. Despite a slow start and some awkward moments, Bad Neighbours 2 is a very entertaining, funny and silly watch, which, if you liked the first one, you'll be perfectly satisfied with the sequel. The best thing about this movie is the way that it does emulate its predecessor. It may be very similar, but the fact that it retains its manic and juvenile vibe is what makes it as enjoyable as it is. Once again, we get a fight between an out-of-control group of teenagers and the homeowners next door, but with a combination of new and similar jokes, all of which are just as off-the-chain as you'd hope, there's undoubtedly a lot to laugh at. Overall, Bad Neighbours 2 is a very entertaining movie, with some great comedy and performances throughout. It has a few problems, and a few very awkward and unfunny moments, but it's on the whole a solid follow-up to the hugely funny first movie.

The Boss
Michelle Darnell (Melissa McCarthy) plays a billionaire, who suddenly loses her fortune, and is sent to prison for insider trading. After five months she is released, ends up staying with her former employee who is also a single parent. She finds a way to build things back up, with a brownie empire. McCarthy's husband Ben Falcone directs this movie, and also co wrote it with her. Melissa McCarthy is quite funny here, playing a hateful character you can not help but really like. She and Kristen Bell play off each other with such perfection. Peter Dinklage is also quite the scene stealer, when he is on camera, he goes for the moment each time. This is not for everybody, It's not all family oriented, but not overly raunchy either. give it a go.

Devil May Call
This is another entry in the long-running sub-genre of "blind women in peril" movies. A crisis hotline operator finds herself stalked by one of her clients, a deeply disturbed guy with murder in mind. He turns up at her place of work one night, and murders ensue... This gets into its pace early on. The story has potential and the characters are clear. I found myself losing interest in the middle, I think because the killer is bog standard with nothing to make him stand out. Also the violence isn't interesting, too safe. When they ramp up the tension they have to use sound effects with a silly double bump-in-the-dark. Then we get the usual lame choices that the hunted always make to annoy the audience. For all the criticism the ending is good. Overall, a straight story that steadily runs out of inspiration, only to reel it back in the final moments.

The Angry Birds Movie
I loved the movie. I have never played the game though. The story line was fast paced and engaging. The action is energetic and the comedic delivery is always on time. There are also a lot of "blink or you'll miss them" sight gags, as well as some subtle adult humour. The animation was excellent. This is a kids movie, however it reaches out to all ages. If you're looking for a dramatic and thought-provoking animated movie, then you won't find it here, but if you want to experience a wacky and energetic fun movie, then I recommend this one.

The Brothers Grimsby
Sacha Baron Cohen's 5th movie as a writer and star will leave his fans laughing their arses off! It's about two brothers reuniting after 28 years: one is an England football hooligan and the other an MI6 spy. What makes the movie hilarious is the recognisable comedic toilet humour and political correctness of Baron Cohen, whist having a strong comic chemistry with Mark Strong who is often put in hilarious scenarios and situations. The supporting talents of Rebel Wilson, Isla Fisher, Ray Winstone and Penelope Cruz make the side characters likable without having to overthrow the leading two actors who carry the majority of the movie. I can't say what jokes occur in the movie but I can describe them as gross, offensive, wrong and really far out! It won't appeal to everybody as it will either shock and offend some viewers but for those wanting a good laugh you will enjoy it.

X-Men: Apocalypse

X-Men: Apocalypse
I've no idea why the critics have said this movie isn't that good. They've got it completely wrong this time. The movie is an absolute stunner - from storyboard, script, mutant characters, pace, cinematography, CGI etc you get the picture. Some of the scenes got spellbinding visual effects. There are plenty of big action scenes throughout the movie that really impresses. This movie really showed the "true birth" of the X-Men, it wasn't another Jennifer Lawrence movie, in this movie they really gave each character a spotlight. Olivia Munn, Lana Condor, and Alexandra Shipp were born to be their respective characters. Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy are excellent. Sophie Turner does an amazing job as Jean Summers. X-Men: Apocalypse is a must watch, for fans of the X-Men movie franchise. Go, be thoroughly entertained!

The Falling
The premise surrounding The Falling is intriguing. At an all-girls school in 1969, students fall faint following an on-campus tragedy. The fainting spells don't last long, but since fainting is hardly a contagious disorder, the underlying cause is unknown. Worse - and unsurprisingly - most of the non-fainters believe that the girls are faking their episodes. The main problem with this movie is that the fainting episodes are never explained fully to the audience. Rather than explore why the girls are becoming ill, the movie focuses on the fact that no one believes them, going as far as putting all of them in the hospital to be physically and psychologically grilled, apparently in an attempt to break them. Watch this movie (at your own peril) and see if you can figure out why everyone's fainting, or even if they in fact really are. There are hints of supernatural activity - isolated school, scenes in which the girls hold hands in a ring, a la occult worship, a forbidding lake - but it's never clear if any of these aspects has anything to do whatsoever with the girls' illness. I was mostly bored with this movie and can't really recommend it.

Has to be one of the worst movies I've ever had to endure watching. It stinks to high heaven! Awful acting, terrible cheap CGI effects and the dialogue is ridiculous. Hated every second of this crap. Do yourself a favour and never watch this garbage. You'll thank me for it!!

Panic Room
This is one of those movies I've always wanted to watch for a long time but didn't have the chance until now! This is a top notch thriller, that's extremely suspenseful with lots of creepy atmosphere and wonderful performances. All the characters are fantastic, and the story is awesome, plus Jodie Foster is simply amazing in this. Forest Whitaker, Jared Leto and Dwight Yoakam are all great as the 3 intruders, and it remains unpredictable and surprising throughout for the most part. It's extremely well made and written as well. Director David Fincher's inventive camera angles, x-ray vision style, and uniquely-lit sets really sets the mood. Overall, it was a joy to watch.

Shut In
This is a great 'victim turns the table on ruthless thieves' movie. 3 thieves break into a house expecting the owner Anna to be at her brother's funeral. However Anna has severe agoraphobia and cannot go outside. When they run into Anna, the gang decide that they cannot allow her to live, since she has seen their faces, but killing her isn't as easy as they thought, the house holding more than a few unpleasant surprises for the burglars. This movie starts off in standard home invasion mode, but takes an unexpected turn when Anna's house is revealed to be loaded with gadgets and secret rooms, the agoraphobe able to keep track of the thieves via hidden cameras. What warped motive could Anna possibly have for such bizarre home improvements? The acting was good particularly from the lead Beth Riesgraf and the slow buildup kept the movie engaging. The pacing was steady keeping the movie flowing along nicely. There are enough twists in this movie to keep you interested until the end. Well worth watching.

Krampus (2015)
Wow! Now this is a horror cult classic! It was certainly a great surprise! While people compare this movie to Gremlins I guarantee you it is nothing like Gremlins. This movie is its own movie! A dark Christmas fantasy! This is a story of a broken with family with no love, no respect and no desire to love Christmas. And then Krampus and his evil minions comes to town! Great actors / characters, great pacing, amazing visual effects, nothing looked cheesy, or too CGI filled, We're given a great plot design, as well as unique aspects, and to top it all off we're given an excellent blend of comedy, as well as horror. The ending was very original and very unexpected. Check it out, you'll have a blast!
