One of the most awful movies I've ever had the misfortune of watching! I can't even begin to describe how very weird it is. The acting is simply terrible. The choices made by the actors are conflicting and confusing. The story line is confusing and hastily thrown together with some stupid idiotic dialogue by the characters. What you do see a lot is an old man wandering around naked all greased up with his large penis (I believe it was prosthetic) being displayed many times. I've no idea what the point of all that was? This is a sorry excuse for a movie and no person should torture themselves by watching it.

Vincent Milรจs is a young but highly skilled shooting instructor for the French police. No family or friends (his father was killed by criminals and he was raised by his best friend; a very tough and obsessive cop). Miles is an outstanding shooter but he never wanted to be in the streets; but unexpected circumstances forces him to the real world of criminals and corruption. Forget everything you imagine. The movie is quite unpredictable and nothing is like it seem. Things gets extremely ugly and violent. This is not the typical political correct movie about police. Cops here are corrupt in different levels and far from friends. Events are barely explained and occur so fast you cannot blink or stop paying attention. In brief; the lesser to know about the movie is the better but it will keep you hooked up for a quick 85 minutes.

I've never gotten round to watching Bad Education the series but thought I'd give the movie a go instead. First impressions were not good as it was childish and purile. The lead character of Alfie Wickers played by Jack Whitehall, the teacher of Class K is like a child himself who wants to be one of the gang and the class itself is made up of your usual stereotypes. Gradually though I began to warm up to the movie. Sure, some of the jokes are in bad taste and it resorts to crude humour but it made me smile at times. The thin excuse for a plot has Class K going to Cornwall where they get involved in the activities of a Cornish extremist group. This comedy movie isn't too bad but I suspect fans of the series will enjoy it more.

After a 7 year old girl is murdered, the grandfather publicly issues a $10 million bounty on the head of the prime suspect (an already convicted rapist/murderer named Kiyomaru). An idealistic cop is assigned the protect and transport the suspect despite the repeated assassination attempts.
Another great movie by Takashi Miike with an intriguing storyline. The idea of all of Japan having their eyes on one man was extremely interesting and gave major tension to the movie. You never knew who was going to try to claim that bounty and at what time. Kiyomaru is far from a sympathetic character, his behaviour, and complete lack of empathy, making him a narcissistic villain that causes even the audience to wonder whether protecting such a vile criminal is worth it. Although there are numerous set-pieces, it's the characters that drive this movie questioning their motivations. The cast are great but it's Tatsuya Fujiwara who stands out as the killer whose seeming lack of motive makes him all the more chilling. Overall this is a terrific and thought-provoking movie that will please Miike fans and those who appreciate great character-driven crime thrillers.

A sad but heartwarming movie about a married couple who go through the ups and downs in life when the husband is diagnosed with depression and how the wife's strong support is instrumental in helping the husband in getting better and learn to live with his illness. The movie essentially focuses on the emotional plight of Mikio as he battles with his newfound state of seemingly perpetual unhappiness. It doesn't tell the root cause of his illness but points towards the fact that his stressful job has probably contributed to it. The acting by the 2 leads in Masato Sakai and Aoi Miyazaki is brilliant. The viewer can easily empathise with what Mikio is going through and see how his understanding and supportive wife Haruko changes her life to accommodate his illness. Both characters go on a journey together and by the end of the movie you'll have a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart. In the end, I thought it gave an honest portrayal of what depression can do to a person but also that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. A really good movie.

Who knew the story behind how McDonald's Restaurant became a worldwide phenomenon and franchise and the man behind it would be such a fascinating and engrossing movie? It's a biopic based on the life of Ray Kroc, and the businessman's ruthless acquisition of the McDonald's fast food franchise. Ray Kroc wasn't the best or smartest business man. He took advantage, as per the story, of the McDonald brothers; but that is just doing business. You will feel sorry for the brothers. The performances are the highlight of the movie. Michael Keaton steals the show as Ray Kroc. Keaton effortlessly portrays the various emotions of his crafty character. Director John Lee Hancock is brilliant in making the movie very involving and entertaining. Beautiful camera visuals, colour tone and production design add to this retro tone of the movie. For those that want to see the story about how the Golden Arches franchise rose from it's beginnings this is a must-see.

A below average Swedish B-movie actioner about a scientist being tricked by the Russians into defecting and a group of ninjas being called up to rescue him. According to some sources, this movie has been Sweden's best movie export although I can't see how as it's pretty rubbish. The action sequences are poorly choreographed and the acting by the whole cast is dire. It's hilarious hearing a pistol being fired with the sound of a laser gun! The so-called ninjas resolve to utilising semi automatic weapons to take care of business so there's not much martial arts on display. This movie has gained cult status over the years. Overall it wasn't really worth watching so don't bother with it.

Now this is a movie that everyone needs to see. It relates the lives of three extraordinary black women who contributed to American culture and success during the Space Race in the 60's. The performances by Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monรกe and Kevin Costner were compelling. Taraji P. Henson was superb. The story line is remarkable and that it is based on a true story makes it so meaningful. What a movie to show kids that you can pursue your dreams no matter what your background is. A very inspiring tale indeed.

The story is simple and straight to the point, Driver wants revenge. Driver gets out of prison after 10 years, and he starts hunting down the criminals who were responsible for killing his brother. However, things get complicated when a hit man comes after him. Not only does he have to avoid the cops, but now he is also a target. Physically, the Rock is imposing but he only speaks about 2 dozen words in the whole movie. The Rock does not have much dialog, but his tough mannerisms and cold blooded killer facial expressions are enough. Billy Bob Thornton's performance as the sleazy cop is excellent. If you want to see an action packed revenge flick, this is a good one to see.

This adaptation of Joe Orton's play is about a three-way affair between an elderly brother and sister with Mr. Sloane who charms them both with his good looks and apparently bisexual leanings. It's certainly not the usual fare one expected in the 70's especially in the UK anyway. It's controversial and has gained quite a cult status because of it's black comedy. It didn't really do anything for me - perhaps it was too weird for my liking though I can't fault the acting of the three main leads.

This is a simplistic movie set in post apocalyptic Britain in which the world population outgrew the food supply and a decline in drilling for oil produced the downfall of the human race. The story follows one man living alone on the wilderness where his peaceful life is interrupted one day by a mother and daughter who seek food and shelter.
I enjoyed this Irish made movie. There is not much dialogue in this movie but it's not required as the palpable tension between the desperate characters living on the edge is always there making for compelling viewing. Who can you trust in this dog eat dog world? The story is rather grim and the acting between the three leads is great. It's a very different kind of movie, very un-Hollywood, a subtle yet powerful reminder of what the future might look like if we continue to ignore the inevitable decline of the world's oil supplies in the near future.

This ludricous Japanese revenge tale has a plot so out there it has to be seen to be believed! The story is about a doctor whose wife is raped and murdered by a lunatic. Left for dead, the doctor recovers and eventually buys a drug addict woman in order to train her to become his tool for revenge, a trained assassin to kill the man who wronged him and took away his wife.
It's a typical low budget blood, sleaze and guts movie - full of nudity and gore. Asami in the lead role will never get an award for her acting, in fact you could describe it as wooden but she's been in some outrageous movies over the years such as Machine Girl which has gotten her noticed all over the world. This isn't her best movie by a long shot. The story is not exciting and even when the so-called revenge plan takes place nears the climax it's poorly executed. You'll enjoy it if you're a fan of Asami as she's naked and blood drenched a lot of the time but otherwise I wouldn't bother.

Set 2 years after the conclusion of the 2nd season, Inspector Akane Tsunemori heads to the country of SEAUn after terrorists from there strike Japan. The memory of one captured terrorist reveals that Shinya Kogami, Tsunemori's former enforcer who went rogue and disappeared three years ago is now one of SEAUn's rebel leaders. Tsunemori insists of going to SEAUn to help the government who is testing the Sybil system there and to apprehend Kogami.
This is a fantastic feature movie that continues the greatness that is Psycho-Pass. It's got everything you enjoyed from the anime series in action, intrigue and excitement. The visuals are great as usual plus there's more violence and blood. It's good to see what finally happened to Kogami after he disappeared at the end of Season 1. Fans of Psycho-Pass will be delighted with this movie - I know I was!

The 2nd Assassination Classroom which carries on 6 months later from the first movie is a step down as it's basically a rehash of the same plot involving Class E having to kill their beloved octopus teacher because if they don't - the Earth will be blown up. The only difference is the viewer gets the teacher's backstory in that he isn't an alien at all but rather a DNA lab experiment. It takes the mystery away from the tentacled being. At nearly 2 hours long, the story drags especially during the middle section (the first movie had exactly the same problem) and I didn't find the movie to be quite so fun as before. The school pupils are likable enough and the cast perform well in their roles. Former K-Pop star Kang Jiyoung is smoking hot as the foreign language teacher Irina Jelevic. The climax makes up for the majority of the movie's failures with a fitting end to the story. Overall I was rather disappointed.

Although touted in some places as a Jackie Chan movie, it isn't but he does have a blink or you'll miss it cameo right at the start. This movie is like a lot of his movies - slapstick comedy and superb action scenes. The plot revolves around some stolen diamonds that some people are after. The movie is basically split into 2 parts: the plot and comedy for the first hour which is fine but for most it's the last 30 mins which will peak your interest. It's just one long action sequence which climaxes at a warehouse in which Carina Lau and her friends square off against the baddies. For that alone it's worth seeing the movie as it's a superb set piece. This movie isn't memorable by a long shot and won't even be in most HK action movie fan's Top 10 but it's still worth checking out.

aka Ring of Death. A well made classic tale of an underdog being trained in the martial arts then being set loose on the people that humiliated him. This storyline whilst familiar to many martial arts fan is a cut above the rest thanks to the performances of Cliff Lok and Hwang Jang Lee. It is helped also by the great fight choreography by Corey Yuen, Mang Hoi and Hsu Hsia. What a shame that the final fight between Lok and Lee is short. The plot has several twists and turns to keep it interesting along the way and Lok's portrayal as the underdog makes him endearing to the viewer.

This movie sees a former navy sub captain take on a journey to recover some lost Nazi gold for a private backer. The best part of this movie is definitely the performance from Jude Law. Even though his accent is a little weird I thought his character was really interesting. He had a good arc in the movie and you believed his character. There are one or two interesting supporting characters but the majority weren't important though or likable. The script has some good tension and dramatic dialogue but it lacked a bit of character development and humour which would have helped. The style of the submarine was great and really felt claustrophobic. A decent enough movie in the end.
