The LA police department have a special team of officers with a talent for reducing big-time crime. The team leader has an excellent track record for crime reduction in other big cities, but his methods are unconventional, and so is he – he’s a werewolf.
This action-packed thriller is more of a twist on the traditional LAPD action movie rather than a twist on the werewolf movie. The action sequences are very exciting, adrenaline-fueled affairs and in the other scenes there are plenty of close ups and interesting sound effects to set the mood of the movie. Mario Van Peebles does his usual action hero thing with great flare, and Bruce Payne makes an excellent villain as Mr A Garou. The pacing is a bit off though as it doesn't really pick up until the 2nd half. It's a fairly entertaining movie elevated by some great directing, but the storyline could definitely have used a bit more work. If you're in the mood for a decent action movie then this could do the trick for you.

When a scientists daughter is kidnapped, American Ninja Joe Kastle, attempts to find her, but this time he teams up with a youngster Hiro he has trained in the ways of the ninja.
The final installment of the American Ninja franchise takes on more a kids movie kind of approach which doesn't help if you're expecting some hard edged martial arts/action stuff. The kid Hiro more or less takes on the central role and not the American Ninja himself. In keeping it being kid friendly, there is more slapstick and groaning humour in the movie. The martial arts is decent but not exciting. It is easily the worst of the franchise and thankfully no more movies were made.

Like every year, Jim, Ray, Brad and Paul leave the town for a week to go hunting in the desert. But this year everything is different: There’s not a single animal to be found, the whole forest has fallen quiet. Two female campers they meet have mysteriously disappeared the next day, leaving their whole equipment behind. And then they start to behave weird themselves..an alien power is using them for cruel psychological experiments.
For a TV movie, this isn't too bad with a good storyline to it. The characters aren't ones you warm up to with Marc Singer's cocky hunter being the worst of the lot. The New Mexico locations look nice, the story maintains a nice level of old-school spookiness with a strangely unsettling nature and there are some cool cheap special effects throughout. How they manage to destroy the alien threat to their lives is pretty lame though. I was still fairly entertained though and it's worth a watch.

In the near future, a cop protects a reporter from an organisation of crooked, renegade cops who thinks she knows too much about them.
This is a pretty average b-movie hokum with David Carradine and his robotic laser arm collecting bounty on the heads of villains. I can't say I'm a fan of Carradine and the fact that the supporting cast perform better than him here says it all. He looks bloated and a bit tired in this - simply going through the motions and the dialogue he spouts is hilarious. The whole movie is shot with a dingy, uninspired poor man’s karate movie look about it. The action scenes are OK though the scene in a junkyard in which Carradine's flying robot arm kicks the shit out of a villain is pretty funny to watch. It's not as bad as some says it is but I can't say it's good either. It is what it is and you'll just have to take a punt and see if it appeals to you.

Life changes for three woman who run a failing hotel, when a mysterious man washes up at the beach.
This romantic comedy was one of the few movies that Roger Moore did after leaving his role as 007. The story is a gently comic drama, where Moore, as a bullshit artist of the highest degree, sexes up three generations of women with his raised eyebrow that Dwayne Johnson would be proud of!! There's a rather weak out of place crime subplot which only appears right at the start and the final 20 mins of the movie. The movie might have been better without this to be honest. Moore is his usual charming self and gives a good performance. In the end, this is just an average movie but those that want to see a light romantic movie will probably enjoy it.

When an archaeologist violates an Egyptian queen’s tomb, her evil spirit enters his new born daughter and starts possessing her when she turns 18.
The main problem with this movie is it's incredibly dull and nothing much happens. It's all a bit of too little too late when something interesting does happen in the story. Hammer tried unsuccessfully to do this story before with Blood of The Mummy's Tomb and that failed for them and this one does the same even with a Hollywood legend in Charlton Heston in the lead role with Susannah York as his support. The only bright spot in the movie is the location filming in Egypt and the fantastic tomb sets which are impressive. The deaths are not that good and one tries to even copy The Omen. Overall, this is a boring movie with too many long scenes of dialogue and not enough atmosphere or dread. A wasted opportunity.

A venereal disease turns an entire town of two-timing mothers into cannibals!
Gore-hounds should get a kick out of this horror parody in which cannibalistic mothers run rampage around town. The arm and leg chewing sequences are done really well despite the low budget. Children and even a baby are eaten by their mothers but the funniest scene has a pair of the mothers ripping a cat in half after arguing who gets to eat it! Yes, the acting is poor but I think that's the way it's supposed to be. I can't say there was too many laughs to be had from the movie either. It's OK I suppose but nothing special.

Janet and Brad Majors, unhappily married, are separated after appearing on a game show. Janet becomes a superstar while Brad is thrown into a mental hospital. But what does fast food magnate Farley Flavors have up his sleeve?
The follow-up to The Rocky Horror Picture Show by Richard O'Brien may not be quite as good as it but it's still a lot of fun. Some of the regulars return in different roles, however, the tongue in cheek humour and craziness of Rocky Horror gives way to a movie that tries to be a bit too bizarre for it's own good. The plot really doesn't matter, and nor should it. Some of the songs are really decent. As for the leads, Cliff DeYoung is underused as Brad and Jessica Harper as Janet is fantastic and has a great singing voice. Don't listen to those that say this movie is really bad - it definitely isn't. Give it a go especially if you loved Rocky Horror.

Can a squad of misfit cheerleaders with an over-age trainer possibly win the big cheerleading competition?
A terrible 80's teen sex comedy which deserves an F grade for crappiness. If you're expecting this to be up there with the likes of Porky's or Meatballs, you'll be sadly disappointed. It doesn't even come close to them. Fair enough if you enjoy watching lengthy cheerleading displays as you might get something out of it but for a so-called comedy the humour is sadly lacking. The acting is the worst you'll ever see. Simply awful, lame and forgettable.

It is the early stages of the Vietnam War and a group of American military advisors led by Major Asa Barker have to defend a tiny village called Muc Wa from a large force of Viet Cong.
Burt Lancaster turns in a fine performance as Major Asa Barker who has doubts about the wisdom of the war America is about to embark upon. The timescale is set before the conflict in Vietnam was thoroughly Americanised. It is not your typical glossy, overproduced Hollywood action extravaganza nor is it overly laden with patriotic sentimentality. It is, rather, a compelling exploration of the hubris and naivete that shaped the American war effort. The action scenes are competently done and the directing by Ted Post is good. When you've already seen all the other 70's and 80's Vietnam war movies, this one might be worth a watch for you.

Two men have different motivations but the same goal when they team up and mount an assault on a powerful drug gang.
The inventor of Tae-Bo in Billy Blanks teams up with 'Hot Rod' Rowdy Roddy Piper in this mindless action flick. Some movies will boast that you are about to see some "non-stop action" but in this case it's actually completely accurate. Whenever Blanks is on the screen he is beating somebody senseless. Piper gets his share of the action as well but it's really Billy Blanks' martial arts prowess on display here. The man can't act but it doesn't really matter. Piper is actually better in doing that. This has everything you would expect in a cheesy action movie; explosions, martial arts, beautiful women and guns with unlimited ammo. It's one of those movies you can turn your brain off and just enjoy what takes place onscreen.

The first pilot to leave Earth’s atmosphere parachutes back to Earth after hitting some cosmic rays from a meteorite, but he's vanished; all the while something with a craving for blood prowls the countryside.
A monster/sci-fi movie with special effects-laden and a lot of stock-footage, dealing with an astronaut falling to Earth, being plastered with metallic meteor dust and with a starving organism needing to feed, along the way an alien tries to survive and begins killing in order to get it. Despite the low budget of this movie, it has an original and eerie story with suspense, tension and horror. The monster suit is well made and is quite memorable. Great acting from all the cast. It's a solid piece of entertainment from start to finish.

After the Tarantula cult besieges her convent, a young nun goes with an army of Muslims to destroy the convent and kill those who wronged her which includes her cruel father.
A nasty Italian nunsploitation movie with a very bleak storyline. It's very well shot, created and acted with Florinda Bolkan performing well in the lead role. There seems to be a lot of time and effort went into the sets, costumes, cinematography, lighting. Animal lovers should not watch as there is an outrageous and horrible horse castration scene (some people have said this was real). There are also other brutal and sleazy scenes which is what you want from an exploitation movie but it also delivers a feminist and anti-religion message. If your stomach can take it, you might get something out of this movie.

An Australian cop called Stoner heads to Hong Kong to head off the supply of a new designer drug which raises the sexual appetite of anyone who takes it.
A really bad martial arts/action movie with George Lazenby sharing top bill with Angela Mao. Golden Harvest more or less produced some lively action movies but this one is a stinker. Sure, there are fights galore but when you have Lazenby just swinging his arms around and the bad guys fall to the floor then you know it's not good. Sammo Hung even gets a role as a thug and gets his ass kicked by Lazenby - how humiliating! As for Lazenby's acting, he's as wooden as ever and isn't cut out for the role in the movie. Angela Mao is probably the only one that comes out shining here. A very disappointing HK movie.
