Out on a routine patrol during the Korean War, a small group of British soldiers find that Chinese troop movements have cut them off from their own lines. They try to fight their way back to safety but with the enemy surrounding them on all sides, the prospects look bleak. Facing almost insurmountable odds, they decide to stand and fight.
This war movie was shot on location in the mountains of Montejunto, in Portugal, as it was supposedly similar to Korea. It is notable as the first major feature movie to portray British troops in action in the Korean War. It's a tense movie as the troops shelter in an abandoned Buddhist temple and try to hold out in the place as the Communists bear down on them. A lot of the movie is about the internal battle between the soldiers as some dislike one another. The main performers are Stanley Baker and Ronald Lewis but watch out for early roles for Michael Caine and Robert Shaw. It's a worthwhile watch for fans of the traditional British war movie, but by no means the best example of the genre.

A young businessman, out jogging one night, sees a beautiful woman undressing in her bedroom window and he is compelled to return every night to watch her, until one night he witnesses a murder in the same apartment and soon becomes the prime suspect.
This Canadian thriller has a similar premise to Hitchcock's Rear Window and while it's better scripted it's not nearly as enjoyable. That's not to say this movie isn't good because it is. The story plays out pretty much as expected, and a plot twist in the final third can be seen coming a couple of miles away. There is a hint of eroticism running through the story and the acting by the cast is more than adequate. You might not get much out of this movie but it's definitely watchable enough.

A GI in Vietnam saves his buddy’s life, but in the process is shot in the head. The injury results in brain damage to the point where he basically has a child’s brain in a man’s body. When they get out of the army the two open up a bar together, but some local gangsters make things tough for them after they refuse to take part in brutal cage matches where fighters battle to the point of serious injury and/or death.
This movie is best known for teaming up two actors best known for portraying Marvel heroes in Reb Brown (Captain America) and Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk). For a movie about cage fighting, the fights are simple and short, with nothing spectacular about them at all. It’s a far cry from the many other underground fighting movies that were prevalent around this time. It's a pretty pacey movie with a lot going on from start to finish but unfortunately the action isn't that hot. I know that Lou Ferrigno might not be the world's greatest actor but I did like him as the gentle giant in this movie. This movie is the perfect example of a movie to watch on a wet Sunday afternoon. It's not great but it's not too bad either.

Kol is an evil man about to be executed on a distant spaceship. He manages to escape on a shuttle and make his way to some woods in America. The commander of the spaceship decides to send out The Alienator to execute Kol at all costs.
This is another glorious train wreck from director Fred Olen Ray. A mind bending lo fi sci-fi action spectacle that borrows heavily from The Terminator. In true Olen Ray fashion the viewer is given a dramatic and cheesy movie chalked full of great practical FX, cheap set designs, neon lasers and a wonderful synth score. It also shows how low Jan-Michael Vincent had fallen since Airwolf to take part in this crap fest. Female bodybuilder Teagan Clive who is all muscles plays the Alienator. You're more than likely to laugh at this movie than anything else. If you want a look at an unintentional comedy, give it a go!

A young boy witnesses his parents killed by an evil Lord and his men. Years later and now an adult, he plots and train hard in order to get revenge.
A below average Korean martial arts movie. Despite the title, this has nothing to do with Bruce Lee. It's just a title to pull viewers in who will be disappointed by what they see. This movie also has various other titles against it. Casanova Wong takes the leading role. The movie has nothing of any note to recommend. The martial arts fights are pretty poor with a couple of them even being cringeworthy. The dubbing is atrocious. Unless you're that desperate, steer clear of this mess. There are much better examples of this genre to watch.

Cal, a young man on the fringes of the IRA, falls in love with Marcella, a Catholic woman whose husband, a Protestant policeman, was killed one year earlier by the IRA.
This movie was adapted for the screen by Bernard MacLaverty from his 1983 novel. It is a good and interesting movie about the tension, distrust and senseless violence that characterised Northern Ireland during the Troubles. Pat O'Connor directs this drama with an appreciation for the small details which say more than words about what living in an environment of life-threatening terrorism does to people. Cal played wonderfully by John Lynch is a young man who wants to do penance in some way from the murder he had to take part in 12 months previously and also separate himself from the terrorists who find him a convenient accomplice. Helen Mirren as the woman that Cal falls for also plays her role very well. I really liked Mark Knopfler's lovely and haunting score. A good movie to have a look at.

A simple village is raided by troops of an evil leader, and most of the people are whisked off to be slaves or killed. Three women survive and set off to liberate their people. When they arrive at the leader's city, they team up with the local underground to seek vengeance and liberation of the slaves.
A low budget swords and sandals movie that feels like a Roger Corman production. To say that the plot of the movie is stupid and rather pointless would be an understatement. This is your basic revenge movie where a bunch of evil men do a lot of bad things to a lot of women and now the women are going to go out and kick their ass. The action scenes are at least well-done and there's plenty of sleaze throughout the incredibly short 74-minute running time. The female leads are incredibly beautiful which will please many male viewers I imagine! This isn't a masterpiece or even a good movie for that matter but for a popcorn flick it's mildly entertaining in a cheap and sleazy way.

A doctor uses special eye drops to give himself x-ray vision, but the new power has disastrous consequences.
Roger Corman produces and directs probably his best, in respect to story line, special effects and overall insight. Both shocking and satisfying, it is a movie that keeps good pace with some interesting effects, though its use of the technique is a little repetitive. A lot is tantalisingly unexplored so the movie peters out a little in the final third when the novelties are exhausted. Ray Milland's performance as the tortured scientist provides the movie with a believable lead and a solid foundation which has a disturbing ending. Well worth a watch.

On marrying the boss’s daughter, Richard takes his father-in-law’s advice to hire a live-in domestic. He soon finds good help is hard to come by. Run-ins follow with dipsomaniacs, bank robbers, a Welsh lass who takes one look at London and runs, and an Italian charmer who turns the place into a bawdy house. Then when Ingrid arrives from Sweden things actually start to get complicated.
A bog standard British comedy from director Gerald Thomas using many of the cast from his other movies. The script is merely so-so and there are only one or two genuine laughs. Joan Hickson would play the same drunken character the following year in No Kidding. Sid James has a supporting role as a policeman and the sexy Italian Claudia Cardinale has a small part. The main leads are Michael Craig and Anne Heywood. I was really disappointed in this movie as I expected loads more laughs but it was only seeing various British comedy actors popping up that made it bearable.

In the run-up to the 1972 elections, Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward covers what seems to be a minor break-in at the Democratic Party National Headquarters. He is surprised to find top lawyers already on the defense case, and the discovery of names and addresses of Republican fund organisers on the accused further arouses his suspicions. After the editor of the Post runs with the story and assigns Woodward and Carl Bernstein to it, they find the trail leading higher and higher in the Republican Party and eventually into the White House itself.
The true story of how two minor journalists opened up a can of worms that led to the downfall of the President of the United States. A story almost too strange for fiction. The fact that the outcome is known to everybody watching the movie doesn't seem to matter - it is a how-done-it rather than a who-done-it. It's fascinating how these journalists manage to piece together the puzzle through sheer hard work. Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford are superb in their roles. Jason Robards also shines as their boss Ben Bradlee. If you like political thrillers, then All The President's Men is a must watch.

A group of scientists travel to a remote island to study the effects of nuclear weapons tests, only to get stranded when their airplane mysteriously explodes. The team soon discovers that the tests have given rise to crabs mutated into intelligent, impervious, telepathic giants intent on increasing their numbers by breeding, then travelling to populated areas to feed.
This is a bad movie by the king of the 50's and 60's B-horror movies, Roger Corman. Despite lousy budgets, Corman was able to make some awfully entertaining horror pics but it's not the case with this one. The creatures themselves look a lot more realistic than paper, plastic or putty created critters, so there is that to give it some credit for, although they way they move is extremely silly looking. And the fact that the monsters can speak in the voices of those who were lost at sea makes it even more stupid!! The cast perform well enough though but despite that the movie is a bad and silly written one, and of top of that is also lackluster.

When a singer is horribly disfigured in a car accident, a scientist develops a treatment which can restore her beauty by injecting her with a special serum. While performing the procedure, however, he falls in love with her. As the treatment begins to fail, he determines to save her appearance, regardless of how many women he must kill for her sake.
A stupid title for a movie which is more like a soap opera than a horror. There are no actual vampires in the story either - just a mad scientist who turns into a werewolf like monster. It started out rather interesting but lost steam very quickly then dragged out way too long after that. It really is very dull. The one bright spot is the beautiful Susanne Loret who with her blonde peek a boo hairstyle looks a little bit like Veronica Lake. A total waste of time in my opinion.

A scheming couple plot to conceal a hidden cache of stolen money from its rightful owner. The only problem is that the house they plan to hide it in is haunted.
A good British horror movie though the story is hardly original. I like the way that the main character finds himself shuttled back and forth between his life in the present and the life of the possessing spirit in the past. The movie sets up an effectively spooky atmosphere that slowly builds in suspense with lights that shouldn’t be on, creepy dolls with smashed faces lying on the floor, hobby horses rocking themselves, and eerie voices and children’s laughter echoing through the halls. The movie is well acted, with solid work from Christopher Lee, Joan Collins, Robert Hardy and Herbert Lom. The movie ends on a whimper unfortunately but don't let that put you off, it's still a worthwhile watch.

A young handyman and his wife move to a small village and set up business. There, the handyman encounters numerous strange characters, including a local constable more inept than a squad car full of Keystone Kops; an elderly magistrate whose primary passion is spanking young women; a schoolmistress with a closetful of kinks; and more predatory housewives than the young man can handle.
I thought I'd seen it all in how abysmal some of the British sex comedies of the 70's could be but this one tops it all in how shit it is! It barely stands up as entertainment and the humour is poor to say the least. It uses speeded up comedy to make you laugh. Benny Hill used it to great effect and it worked for him but not in this movie. The plot is just an excuse for some buxom ladies to take their clothes off. I would have thought that Valerie Leon would have had some sense than to take part in something so terrible. The leading man in Barry Stokes is quite arrogant and not at all likable. I can't believe anybody would have watched this crap when it was released. Truly appalling.
